About The Manathai Surin Phuket
The Manathai Surin Phuket is a laid back, beach side hotel with an emphasis on Thai charm and hospitality.
The Manathai Surin Phuket is located just a five minute walk from the public beach, and sits well in the midst of the backpacker atmosphere of Surin. The open air, triple height lobby is one of the best features of this uncomplicated hotel, and one of the areas that I come to love most.
When the rains start every afternoon we take refuge in this incense-fragranced atrium, settling into the colourful armchairs with books and sweet, milky Thai iced teas.
Although the beach can get crowded, the hotel with its two pool areas provides a great atmosphere to relax in.
With only 66 rooms, we never feel like we are fighting for loungers or facilities.
Situated just 5 minutes from Surin Beach, The Manathai Surin Phuket is a great stop off point for an authentic taste of rural Thailand.
The hotel is located an hour’s drive from Phuket airport, and offers its own transfer service.
There are 66 rooms and suites at The Manathai Surin Phuket, and we love our Plunge Pool Room with its own private terrace and dipping pool.
The room is decently sized, and comfortably fits a king sized bed. A very comfy king sized bed, it must be said!
One of the best features of our room has to be the generously sized bathtub, which is so wide that you can comfortably sit cross legged and read. I have to admit to spending most of my time in situ, with my kindle for company and feeling perfectly content.
The walk-in shower is really great too, and again is very generously sized.
Whilst the area of Surin itself might be quite rural, our hotel room is nevertheless equipped with a range of mod-cons. These include wireless internet, a television and DVD player, minibar and tea and coffee making facilities. On arrival, we also enjoy a bowl of complimentary oranges.
Eating & Drinking at The Manathai Surin Phuket
All meals can be taken at Phad Thai, the hotel’s beach facing restaurant.
For breakfast we enjoy a humble buffet spread of cereals, simple patisseries and salads.
There is also an a la carte menu available which offers a small selection of continental dishes.
We love that we can head in at any time of day, order a drink or snack, and people watch out of the restaurant porch.
A little extra…
The hospitality that Thailand is so renowned for is also at play at The Manathai Surin Phuket. We manage to arrange a couple of very last minute island trips thanks to the help of the staff at the lobby, who go out of their way to accomplish this for us. The service is truly stellar.
Best time to visit The Manathai Surin Phuket
