1. Debbie Jo

The viral Chiswick pastry spot that actually delivers
When we arrive at Debbie Jo a Saturday, it’s rammed. Inside, every seat is claimed, and people spill out to the bench outside, laden with coffee and pastries. Outside of its digital virality, Debbie Jo feels actually loved by Chiswick locals.
The pistachio pastry winks at us from the display, and we’ve never been any good at self discipline. It’s crisp, wonderfully laminated, and generously filled with pistachio.
But the real revelation at Debbie Jo is the sourdough cookie, crisp at the edges and squidgy in the centre. It carries a faintly malty, savoury depth that is evocative of toasted sourdough. It’s inventive without being try-hard.
In terms of the best coffee shops in Chiswick, this is the one that fully justifies the queue.

2. Tamp

Polished, reliable, if slightly safe
If Debbie Jo is buzzy chaos, Tamp is calm precision.
The winding counter creates clever seating, allowing more people to squeeze in without it feeling cramped, and there are solid outdoor tables too.
The flat white with coconut milk is well made and balanced, although possibly a touch small even by flat white standards. Still, technically sound.
On the other hand, the pain aux raisin lacks that glorious squidgy centre that defines greatness. It’s fine, but no more. Meanwhile, the Brazilian berry soft serve is more granita than ice cream – interesting in flavour, slightly misleading in description.
So while Tamp earns its place among the best coffee in Chiswick, it doesn’t quite thrill in every department.
Rating – 3/5
Address – 1 Devonshire Rd, Chiswick, London W4 2EU
3. Waft Coffee

The Chiswick cafe you can linger in the most
Waft might be the strongest all-rounder of the lot.
First of all, space. You’ll find proper tables with room enough to linger with a laptop, and comfy seating to boot. If I needed to work remotely in Chiswick, this would be my pick without hesitation.
The frappe coffee is excellent, featuring finely crushed ice that melts slowly, proper froth, and enough espresso bite to keep it grown-up rather than feeling like a milkshake.
Their pistachio croissant is also reliably good, and the savoury options mean you could quite easily spend a well-fuelled afternoon here.
Among the best coffee shops in Chiswick, this is the one that feels most usable.
Rating – 4/5
Address – 280 Chiswick High Rd., Chiswick, London W4
4. Frankies

Tiny space, excellent sandwiches
Frankies is a teeny tiny cafe, with just a few seats around a window counter.
But what it lacks in seating, it makes up for in flavour. The chicken sandwich in its crusty mini baguette is excellent, and exactly what you want from a deli-style lunch.
The coffee is smooth and does the job, although the morning pastries sell out quickly, so plan accordingly.
Rating – 4/5

5. Matchado

Best Matcha in Chiswick?
Now, if TikTok loves anything, it’s matcha.
Matchado, tucked away near Turnham Green, is small, Japanese, and matcha focused. The dessert counter alone is enough to tempt you, particularly the creamy matcha cheesecake.
We try the black sesame matcha latte, and while the flavour is beautifully balanced, the texture is fairly gritty.
Still, if you’re specifically hunting the for matcha in Chiswick, this is the strongest contender on the list.
Let’s call it niche, in a good way.
Rating – 3.5/5
Address – 5 Chiswick Common Rd, Chiswick, London W4
6. W6 Cafe

The real magic isn’t in the cafe itself, it’s in the setting
Now technically we’re here for coffee, which is done capably at W6 cafe. But the real draw is that the cafe is located in Ravenscourt Park garden centre which, to this 30-odd year old, is always a good time.
W6 Cafe is tucked beneath a railway arch, and there is something utterly charming about sipping a coffee before wandering slowly through rows of herbs, trailing plants, terracotta pots and unexpected greenery.
It feels like you’ve stumbled into a tiny oasis in the middle of West London.
And that combination makes W6 one of the best cafes in Chiswick.
Rating – 4/5
