Instagram loves Doha

Doha is a place full of undiscovered beauty. More and more, it’s becoming a hub for the arts and a haven of culture and culinary explorations, as well as having its own natural beauty. Now that I’ve spent almost a month exploring the city, I have to put together a post for the most Instagrammable places in Doha.

Without further ado…

1. The Museum of Islamic Art

The Museum of Islamic Arts is a stunning canvas for photography, and therefore has to be one of the most Instagrammable places in Doha.

Once you’re done checking out the glorious artifacts inside the MIA, head to the outdoor fountains, and take a picture of the Doha skyline through the iconic arches. Pretty.

2. Doha’s secret MIA hills

After taking your fill of pictures inside the MIA, go for a stroll around it’s park.

The park at MIA curves around a bay, and at the outermost corner of the curve is a surprise. Climb the grassy hill and find the spot where the flowers juxtapose against the skyline for an uncommon shot of the Doha skyline. This is also one of the most Instagrammable places in Doha.

3. The Mondrian Hotel, Doha

The newly opened Mondrian in Doha is not that photogenic from the outside but, as soon as you step inside, the place is gorgeous. In fact, it’s easily one of the most Instagrammable places in Doha.

The Mondrian is full of enormous, eclectic interior design flair, and is sculpted around Alice in Wonderland. To me, it looks likes the dreams of Dali.

4. The view from Al Mourjan

One of the most spectacular, and most Instagrammable places in Doha is at the edge of Al Mourjan, the only restaurant located on the corniche.

What makes it so special is its evening view of the iconic Doha Skyline, a view that feels uniquely up close and personal. The food and shisha at Al Mourjan are glorious too.

5. Tropical holiday vibes from a gyrocoptor

Well, you couldn’t wave hello to the kayaks, the dhows, the flamingo’s or the soft sanded beaches all in one morning any other way so… a gyrocoptor ride over the beaches has to be one of the most Instagrammable places in Doha.

6. Arabian vibes at Al Sharq Village & Spa

There’s no shortage of gorgeous hotels in Doha, but the Al Sharq Village & Spa has my heart. The reason I like it so much? Its Arabian design is almost unique to hotels in Doha, and really makes you feel the spirit of the country.

Therefore, this has to be one of the best places to take a picture in Doha.

7. The Dome of Al Hazm

Ok, ok, so the title makes this sound a little more than it actually is…

Al Hazm is, ahem, a mall… But! It also has some of the most beatiful architectural flourishes in the city.

8. The mosaics at Al Hazm

We love the dome of Al Hazm, the second biggest in the world, and also the splashes of intricate mosaic work.

9. Over the rooftops of Souq Waqif

Ok, so the whole of Souq Waqif could be taken as being one of the most Instagrammable places in Doha. In particular however, we love climbing up to take in the jagged rooftops, and in the distance the spire of the Islamic centre.
