Three Fabulous Things To Do in Soho, London

Three things to do in Soho…

If I died and went to heaven, then I’d hope that it would look something like Soho. And that’s because I’ll never run out of things to do in Soho. Or eat in Soho, or watch in Soho. Swoon.

Without further ado then, here are three of the best things to do in Soho…

1| Eat, eat, eat

Some of my favourite restaurants in London are located in Soho, and it’s always been my go-to spot for dinner.

Here are some of the things I like to eat most in Soho…

The Grand Thali at Masala Zone

My current Soho-sweetheart restaurant would have to be Masala Zone, for their incredibly fragrant pan-Indian food.

In fact, the last time I went to Masala Zone I indulged in their signature dish; the beautifully arranged Grand Thali. With a chicken curry as the centre-piece for the thali, the rest is made up of a cacophony of gorgeous other bites to eat.

Lamb ‘Slider’ Pau at Masala Zone

Another steller dish is the vegetable-filled dosa at Masala Zone, which is crisp and moreish. Also, if you’re extra peck-ish, do order the lamb sliders in fluffy pao buns.

Egg Paratha Kothu at Masala Zone

Finally, if you do go then you must order the egg paratha kothu. I’ve never had a kothu ever before, and essentially it is a mixture of cut up pieces of buttery paratha, vegetarian curry and scrambled egg.

On their own each component of the Kothu is lovely, but the magic happens when all the ingredients are mixed. The spicy, aromatic masala from the curry soaks the pieces of paratha, which in turn lend a richer, more buttery texture to the whole dish. The egg on top is a lovely addition too – what dish isn’t improved by adding an egg?

I could go on…. in fact, here’s a list of my all time favourite restaurants in London ;)

2 | Indulge in a bit of self-care

Another one of my favourite things to do in Soho is to indulge in a little self care.

Balayage at The Lounge Soho

For a long time I struggled to find a salon that I could feel confident going to again and again, until I came across The Lounge Soho. They cut hair very well, they dye hair very well, and they give you lots and lots of tea and chocolate. Whats not to love?

Plus of course they also use Davines, an Italian haircare brand with a lot to give. Mmm welcome to the best shampoo of your life ;)

3| Theatre & Comedy Shows

Finally, we couldn’t round off a post talking about the best things to do in Soho without talking about all their fab entertainment.

Thriller on Shaftesbury Avenue

Soho of course if the heartland of theatre in London, and you can’t swing a cant without hitting a great new production. Just a few months ago in fact I caught my last show in Soho – Thriller on Shaftesbury Avenue – which was a rendition of all the best songs from Michael Jacksons long and illustrious career. Lashings of fun!

For my next theatre night out I’ve got my eye on Lion King, in a bid to satisfy my current Disney cravings. Plus, they do say it’s one of the best plays in London so.. easy wins.

The Top Secret Comedy Club

Last but not least, one of my other favourite things to do in Soho is to pop into a comedy night. My current favourite is the Top Secret Comedy Club, who have shows every day of the week and highlight some of London’s best new comedic talent.

There you have it then, those are the things that I love to do most in Soho :)

Our lunch at Masala Zone was complimentary. This does not affect our review in any way. All views are our own and as ever we aim to provide useful and honest feedback.
