The Best Cafes and Coffee Shops in Ealing Broadway
The Best Cafes and Coffee Shops in Ealing Broadway
For when you need a really good coffee shop in Ealing Broadway
Sipping coffee on a comfy seat with a slice of cake. It’s one of my favourite things to do. And it’s even better when you can linger with a book, for hours. There are a couple of fantastic cafes and coffee shops in Ealing Broadway where you can do just that.
I’ve spent the best part of a decade drinking coffee and nibbling croissants in Ealing Broadway. The place has really changed over that time, and we’ve got a bunch of excellent cafes and coffee shops with some of the best coffee in the city. Here are a couple of the best ones.

1. Café Zee, Ealing Broadway
For spending hours in (also great for working)
I know I shouldn’t have favourites, but I can’t help it. Café Zee is my favourite coffee shop in Ealing Broadway. And it’s one of the best, not because the coffee or cake is better, but because it’s so comfortable at Café Zee.
Set over two floors, the ground floor has plenty of generously sized tables. Some are along the wall with cushioned seating on one side and a proper chair on the other. My favourite is a table for four in front of the coffee roaster. As the beans bake, I have my laptop out (and plugged into one of the many plug points) working away while people bring me great coffee.
The basement floor is even more comfortable. There are two massive sofa sections – green leather chesterfields – flanked by high-backed reading chairs. On the opposite side is a wall of books. Café Zee is a place to really settle in and spend a few hours.
Oh, and they also do some excellent food. The chicken pesto panini at Café Zee is particularly good, and they also have a bunch of cakes and patisseries. Right now, they’re doing pistachio croissants. Pistachio! How excellent.

2. Wa Café, Ealing Broadway
For decadent Japanese cakes, buns and ‘sandos’
Wa Café serve some of the best Japanese patisserie in Ealing Broadway. They have a smorgasboard of Japanese sweet treats, including matcha cakes, mini hazelnut mont blancs and matcha chocolate croissants.
You can also buy whole cakes from Wa Café and take them home, maybe for a special occasion.
And for something more savoury, try the deep-filled egg sandos. They are ah-mazing.
You can also buy the bread they use for sandos. It’s the traditional Japanese milk break, and I sometimes take a loaf home with me for a weekday lunch treat.
Although it’s not a coffee shop you’d linger at for too long, Wa Café is a great stop for a bite to eat. They also do all manner of hot drinks, including their signature matcha latte.

3. Electric Coffee Co, Ealing Broadway
For coffee from around the world
Electric Coffee Co are massively into their coffee beans, and they serve some of the best coffee around. They’re probably one of the most serious-about-coffee coffee shops in Ealing Broadway.
They source dozens of different varieties of coffee from around the world and process them all in their West Sussex roastery. And when the beans have all been processed, they make their way to Electric Coffee Co in Ealing Broadway.
The café has three different grinders, one for filter blends, one for decaf, and one for single origin beans. See what I mean? They’re serious about coffee.
You can also buy a bunch of coffee-making tools from Electric Coffee Co. I’ve got my eye on a couple of bits of bobs for when I move to a new house :)
You can definitely linger here too, although the it’s less comfortable than at some of the other coffee shops in Ealing Broadway. If I were you, I’d grab a coffee and a cake, and then head to the grassy patch of Haven Green opposite the café. Perfect.

4. Artisan, Ealing Broadway
For learning more about coffee (and honey cake)
Artisan is another great coffee shop in Ealing Broadway. They have a couple of branches in West London, including in Chiswick. But you can count them on one hand, so I still see them as an independent outfit.
The coffee at artisan is the biggest draw. They have some of the best in Ealing. At Artisan, they roast and grind Curious Roo coffee beans, and turn them into frothy, delightful drinks. Their flat white is my favourite – its soft, velvety and satisfying.
And if you’re in the mood, you can also learn how to make great coffee at the Artisan Coffee School, located in the Ealing Broadway branch. The even teach you how to create latte art. Yas queen.
If you’re hungry, Artisan also have some delicious food. I’m a sucker for the pastrami and mustard sandwich, on the most delicious sourdough bread. And for dessert, try the honey and rosemary cake. So gooey, so good.
