Bottomless Pasta on the infinity menu at Pastaio, Westfield
Head to Pastaio at Westfield on a Thursday for the bottomless #infinitypasta menu
Pasta is one of my favourite things to eat. So much so, that you could say I’m a pasta addict. So, when I heard about the infinity pasta menu at Pastaio, where you can eat bottomless pasta, I knew I had to try it. It’s available on a Thursday at the Westfield branch of Pastaio.
Thursday is a good day for it too, since the shops at Westfield are open later for late-night shopping. So, I figure I could go in, shop (or window-shop) til my hearts content, then eat all the pasta at Pastaio. And I do mean all of it ;)
What’s included in the bottomless infinity pasta menu at Pastaio?
The infinity pasta menu at Pastaio in Westfield lets you eat as much pasta as you want for £25. Also included in an aperol spritz drink.
And there isn’t a separate menu or anything – you get to pick any pasta from the regular Pastaio menu. The only difference is that for a set price you can pick whatever you want, and however much you want. It’s a fantastic idea, and bottomless pasta has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it :)
There’s just one pasta dish that isn’t included in the infinity pasta menu, and that’s the lobster spaghetti for two people to share.
Sounds pretty good to me. I figured the best way to go about testing the bottomless pasta menu at Pastaio is to order everything on it*. Which is exactly what we did.
*Everything except any pasta dishes with pork in them, since we don’t eat it.

Spaghetti with Amalfi lemon, basil and 3 year old Parmesan
We start by ordering the lightest dishes with the more delicate flavours. First to arrive is the spaghetti with basil, which is a lovely combination, and lemon and parmesan are natural partners.
Although I like the spaghetti, I do wish there was more green on the plate, even just a couple of basil leaves. I always think a bit of contrast makes a massive difference. Still, it’s a yummy dish, and a good introduction to the infinity pasta menu at Pastaio.
Tomato and pecorino tortellini with basil
I’m a sucker for filled pasta of any kind, so the tortellini caught my eye straight away. Having devoured them, I’m happy to report they were delicious!
The tortellini come filled with pecorino cheese, and in a tomato and basil sauce. And there are actual basil leaves too, which is both nice to see and also makes the dish even more delicious.
Pecorino is one of my favourite types of cheese too, so that makes me extra happy. In the simplest terms, it’s like a more lemony and summery version of parmesan.
On the other hand, I will say that the portion is smaller than the other pasta dishes we tried, just so you’re aware if you order it. Not that that matters when you’re eating from the bottomless infinity pasta menu, since you can order as much pasta as you like! I knew I’d like it here.
Tagliatelle with girolle mushrooms and crème fraiche
Next up is the tagliatelle dish, which turns out to be similar to the first spaghetti dish, except it has girolle mushrooms running through it. I particularly like use of the crème fraiche over a richer cream, as it makes the whole dish feel lighter.
And I think that’s exactly what you need when you’re eating from a bottomless menu, and hoping to have enough space to try as many different things as possible.
Conchiglie with provolone, courgette, basil and mint
I always find mint makes a huge difference to a meal, so I’m eager to order the conchiglie with courgetti, basil and mint. It’s a nice dish, and a first for me in terms of the provolone cheese, which I’ve never had before.
Overall liked the conchiglie dish, but the dominant flavor is from the cheese. If you’ve never had provolone, it’s got quite a strong and robust taste, and it’s on the more aromatic side of the spectrum. If you know what I mean.
Squid ink spaghetti with crab
There’s something so fun about eating food that’s an unusual colour. So, I’m glad that Pastaio have squid ink spaghetti on their menu.
I like the novelty of the dish and get great satisfaction out of eating the black pasta, but I do find the crab slightly gritty.
Mafalda with 8-hour beef and porcini bolognese
I’ve got a little confession. I’ve never actually tried Mafalda past before now.
Mafalda pasta just refers to the shape of the pasta, which is like pappardelle except it has a wavy edge. And although I’ve never eaten it before, I’ve seen it *everywhere* – it’s on a bunch of different menus in London and it’s also all over Instagram.
I know, I know – a pasta dish will probably taste the same regardless of the shape once it’s in your mouth. But the big thing when it comes to pasta shapes is how well they go with the sauce. And the curly edges of the Mafalda pasta are perfect for catching and holding the Bolognese.
Best of all, the Bolognese itself is rich and full of meaty flavor.
Mafalda with ‘Symplicity’ vegan meatballs and slow cooked tomatoes
Hubby and I are also keen to try the Mafalda with vegan meatballs. The meatballs are an interesting alternative to actual meat, and they come in a generous size too.
As a regular meat eater though, there’s of course a big difference in terms of texture and flavor. But it’s great that Pastaio have it on the menu as an option for people who only eat a vegan diet.
And what kind of desserts are on the menu at Pastaio?
Desserts aren’t included in the £25 infinity pasta menu at Pastaio, but we couldn’t leave without trying a couple!
The tiramisu is the winner tonight. It’s fluffy and light, and creamy and filled with that gorgeous coffee aroma.
We also order the baked ricotta cheesecake, which is also a delight, and is actually quite light and delicate.
Overall thoughts on the bottomless infinity pasta menu at Pastaio in Westfield
Trying the infinity pasta menu at Pastaio has been a great experience. And now I’ve done it, I don’t think I’d go back to Pastaio at any other time because it’s such a great deal.
Mostly, I’ve enjoyed ordering willy-nilly and being able to try all the pasta dishes. I felt like a kid in a candy shop, and my inner pasta addict has been firmly satisfied.
And in terms of how much you can actually eat, I’ve gotta say that we were getting full after the fifth pasta dish. So we’d probably only order that much in future, as it’s quite filling.
Or I’d just eat nothing all day and gorge on Pastaio’s bottomless infinity pasta menu. Yas queen.
Is the food at Pastaio in Westfield halal?
Pastaio don’t serve halal meat. But they do have a couple of halal fish and vegetarian/vegan options if you feel like dining there.
