Victoriana at Foggs Tavern, Covent Garden
Lunch in the Phileas Fogg themed Foggs Tavern
Following in the steps of its Mayfair sister bar, Mr Foggs Tavern is the second Victorian-themed venue from London’s’ Inception Group, and delivers the same full-on sensory experience that we’ve come to expect from the buzzing restaurant collection.
Named after the Jules Verne character Phileas Fogg, this two tiered Covent Garden tavern is formed of a parlour and salon as well as a downstairs space full of Victorian artefacts and a rainbow assortment of colourful knick knacks.
The newly launched food menu features cured salmon, miniature beef pies, smoked meats sourced daily from the market and generously filled roast of the day sandwiches. The shepherds pie with its deep meat filling and creamy mash top is the best thing we try today, and is traditional English fare at its very best.
I’ve loved trying out lunch at Mr Foggs Tavern, and will be back for more meat pies and Victorian oddities.
