Greenery: Pantone’s 2017 colour of the year
Pantone have just announced that ‘Greenery’ is their new, 2017 colour of the year.
The global colour institute chooses it’s colour of the year based on its predictions for the shades and hues that they think will dominate design in a year.
Last year Pantone prophetically named Rose Quartz and Serenity (a light pink and light blue shade respectively) as their 2016 joint colours of the year. True to form, the year was indeed dominated by coppers and pinks, which were seen throughout interior design in paints, fabrics and furniture.
A refreshing and revitalising shade, Pantone’s ‘Greenery’ is thus set to become this year’s leading hue.
So what’s in store this year? A lot more green!
Without further ado, here are 5 ways to incorporate Greenery in to your home this spring.
1. Update the walls with framed Desenio prints
Desenio have a great range of framed prints to choose from, including some beautiful botanical ones. As well as offering prints up to a sizeable 70x100mm, Desenio also deliver a range of wooden and metallic frames.
We love these botanical leaf prints in black oak frames, which would look equally as good in the Desenio gold frames too.
If you’re in need of a little inspiration then also check out their Perfect Pair page, which does all the hard work of picking for you!
2. Splash out on a lush green sofa
We love the plush green Scott sofa from Made, with its buttoned-up cushions and statement velvet fabric.
Try the Sven sofa for a zingier shade of green, with the same lush, velvet tufted cushions…
3. Bring the outdoors in with Terrariums
Ok, ok, so an indoor vertical garden is probably not in the realm of possibility for us mere mortals. What we do love though is the continued popularity of plants in interiors, and specifically of miniature indoor gardens. The look can be accomplished through some great Terrariums, and we love this geometric one from Etsy:
The great thing about Terrariums are that they are very low-maintenance, fun and easy to make!
4. Embrace fun furniture with Greenery
This green Oliver Bonas cactus chair retails at only £29 and is both fun and Greenery green. Tick and tick!
5. A backdrop of Greenery
Wallpaper is back in fashion in a big way and we’re loving the vibrant frond pattern of Palm Jungle from Cole & Son:
Do you have any tips on how to use Greenery at home? I’d love to know, let me know in the comments section below!
Have never really considered green for a room but I will now! Gary x
