Test driving Slayer Notting Hill, the viral TikTok pizza joint

A new pizzeria called Slayer has gone viral on TikTok. As we were around the Notting Hill area, we decided to test drive a slice of their pizza.

After all, a single slice lets you understand a pizza place quickly, without committing too much time or money. We thought the best slice to do this with would be a Margherita. The thinking is, if the dough works, everything else usually does too.

So, with that in mind, we ordered a slice at Slayer Notting Hill and took a seat.

An easy pizza stop in a busy neighbourhood

Even though Slayer in Notting Hill has gone absolutely viral, it is surprisingly easy to get a seat on the fly. Possibly that’s because we visited at lunchtime on a Monday in December.

Straight away, we can tell that Slayer fits neatly into Notting Hill life. You can walk in without planning, order quickly, then, either sit down or take your slice and go.

Because of that, the restaurant feels flexible and comfortable. The design leans into classic pizzeria territory, with subtle diner references. It feels like the kinda place that gives you endless cups of coffee to go with your pizza. That tone carries through to the service as well. Staff are friendly and efficient, and they don’t rush you, even if you only order one slice.

As a result, the whole experience at Slayer Notting Hill feels easy.

Why the Margherita at Slayer is the real test

We always come back to the Margherita. It strips everything back, and doesn’t rely on heavy toppings or trends. Just dough, tomato, cheese, and good (or bad) execution.

When the slice of pizza arrives, it looks reassuring rather than flashy. There is plenty of cheese, evenly spread. The tomato base peeks through without pooling.

From the first bite, texture takes centre stage. The base gives a proper crunch on the outside, then softens into a chewy interior. Importantly, it folds well without collapsing. Now ordinarily, I’d prefer a softer sourdough base. But, when you’re thinking about a slice that you might walk around outside with, a firm base is pretty good.

How the slice holds up at Slayer Notting Hill

As you keep eating, the slice stays consistent. The crunch does not disappear halfway through. Likewise, the chew remains pleasant rather than tough. Even as it cools slightly, the structure holds.

Flavour follows a similar path. The tomato sauce tastes clean and restrained, while the cheese feels generous.

An enjoyable pizza, but not unforgettable

That said, while the slice of pizza at Slayer, Notting Hill, tastes good in the moment, it does not linger in the memory. There is no single flavour note that grabs you and stays with you later in the day. Instead, enjoyment stays firmly in the present.

For us, it lands comfortably at a seven out of ten. In other words, it is good, reliable, and well made, but not something you immediately crave again the next day.

Pizza in Notting Hill, done sensibly

For pizza in Notting Hill, Slayer makes a lot of sense. The location suits quick stops, and the format works for casual eating. And the quality stays consistent.

Rather than chasing hype, Slayer focuses on execution. There are no gimmicks here – instead, attention stays on dough, texture, and balance.

As a result, Slayer is the kind of restaurant you remember when you are nearby and want a dependable slice of pizza without overthinking it.

Final thoughts on our slice of pizza at Slayer Notting Hill

Stopping for a slice at Slayer, Notting Hill is a great idea if you’re in the area and hungry for a very well priced bit of food. Although I don’t totally understand the hype or virality on Tiktok, the pizza is good. It’s just not so good as to warrant going out of your way to get it.

The Margherita slice shows care in its execution. It does not try to reinvent pizza. Instead, it delivers a crisp, chewy, and delicious slice of pizza in a relaxed setting, with friendly service to match.
