Somehow every sip contains all three layers of ube with that almost taro-like flavour, creamy custard, and the sweet biscuit cheesecake base. It’s rich and moreish, and as nice to look at as it is to drink.

Then we try the beef and lemongrass banh mi, a classic Vietnamese baguette. The bread has a chewy crust, fluffy insides, and if fulled with tender beef and fragrant lemongrass. Carrot adds crunch, and the whole thing tastes bright and properly seasoned.
