Trendy Fulham has a new-ish Japanese restaurant that looks properly the business and might rival Roka for style. It’s all dark wood and vintage glass, clever lighting and cream, feathered design touches. It’s both gorgeous and understated, and really very elegant.
The puffy, charred cornicione (crust) give way to a paper-thin middle, and the base is chewy and salty, with just the hint of sourness for an added dimension.
A taste of the orient is provided at The Chancery in shiso-dressed raw scallops with cucumber jelly, avocado cream, and sesame filo.
